Another topical destination...
Back at Fiona’s beautiful home, we celebrated the cuisine of Ukraine. This region has always been the breadbasket of Europe, or it should be. Tragically, this wonderful country with so much potential for growth and development has been war torn for over two years now...
We loved sampling the delicious flavours that the region is known for: garlic bread and rolls to accompany Borscht, beef stew, dumplings, baked vegetables, pancakes, cottage cheese...
Beetroot bakes and dips, cauliflower fritters...
And cake to finish of course!
But we felt pretty helpless reflecting on the political situation I am afraid.
No one should go hungry in Ukraine or Palestine, it is a truly crazy world we live in.
