After an eventful year the Horncliffe Veg Shed Blog is back. Nicola & Peter Coulter have escaped to Berwick leaving Horncliffe residents bereft and slightly lost - how will we manage? Who will write the veg shed shed blog posts? After a year of nodding and pretending to know what I was doing, I have at last managed to access the required passwords and take over.
That's me, above, on the left, Alison Gibb, boldly helping myself to a large portion of veg.
We celebrated May Day 2023 here in Horncliffe in spectacular fashion in ‘The Church’, the Silvester family home, with a veg shed supper in honour of beans and pulses.
Dishes included dahl, lentil fritters, various bean stews, and salads, followed, of course, by everyone’s favourite bean – chocolate.
A chocolate bread and butter pudding, accompanied by a brownie with cream ensured there were no complaints, in fact I think we all left even healthier than we arrived. The meal was rounded off with a bowl of chocolate covered coffee beans and a selection of classic jellybean treats.
