Eileen and Steve hosted a highly authentic Dutch night at Richmond Villa, having lived in the Netherlands for many years, they brought their two sons up there and one has even stayed and is quite settled.
Richmond Villa is a true Dutch outpost in our village we now realise!
The company was excellent and the array of food was spectacular as usual.
Dutch food is quite heavy on cheese and potato but fortunately this is offset by wonderful cakes and puddings.
Veg shed meet for a bring a dish supper on the first Monday of every month throughout winter. A delicious meal with a few glasses of wine always feels like a very good start to the week and learning something about other cultures, with a bit of geography on the side, feels even more worthwhile.
